Be the Quant – ES Squeeze Trainer
What is Be the Quant?
Be the Quant is a browser-based ES squeeze trainer. You trade synthetic ES candles in a simulated fund environment and get judged on the same things a risk desk cares about: P&L, drawdown, hit rate, streaks, and a Sharpe-like edge metric.
It is not a price feed, not historical data, and not financial advice. It is a toy training ground for pattern recognition, risk discipline, and testing whether you can follow rules under pressure.
Core Loop
Each run is a short fund trial:
- You start with a fixed capital base.
- Synthetic ES candles stream across the chart.
- The engine looks for Bollinger Band squeezes plus regime filters.
- You can:
- Go Long when a long setup is live.
- Go Short when a short squeeze sets up.
- Close when your rules say “enough”.
- Step one bar at a time or hit Auto Play and manage in real time.
- The run ends when:
- You hit the bar limit,
- You hit the trade limit, or
- You violate your drawdown kill-switch.
At the end, you get a verdict from the fund based on your stats for that run.
What the Game Tracks
For every run, Be the Quant tracks:
- P&L and return (percentage)
- Maximum drawdown
- Number of trades
- Hit rate (win percentage)
- Best streak of consecutive winners
- A simple Sharpe-like score based on per-trade P&L
- Difficulty mode and drawdown limit
- A local scoreboard of your best fund runs
Your career panel also tracks:
- Total runs completed
- Best P&L %
- Best Sharpe-like score
- How many times risk has fired you
- How many times you reached “Ren-Lite Book Runner” level
Difficulty and Risk Modes
Drawdown is the main risk lever:
- Easy: 15% drawdown kill-switch
- Normal: 10% drawdown kill-switch
- Hard: 5% drawdown kill-switch
If you breach the limit, the run ends and the fund verdict tilts toward “Fired by Risk”.
Verdicts and Scoreboard
At the end of a run you get a fund-style verdict based on: return, max drawdown, hit rate, number of trades, best streak, and your Sharpe-like score.
Examples include:
- Too Quiet to Judge – you barely put risk on.
- Seat Warmer – marginal edge, risk mostly contained.
- Fired by Risk – you blow through the drawdown rules.
- Ren-Lite Book Runner – real edge with controlled pain.
Your best runs are logged in a local scoreboard so you can try to beat your own track record.

What This Is and What It Is Not
This is:
- A toy training sim for risk and pattern discipline.
- A way to feel how drawdown limits and streaks affect decision-making.
- A score-attack puzzle wrapped in a trading skin.
This is not:
- Real market data.
- A backtester.
- An execution tool.
- Investment or trading advice.
Do not use this to make real trading decisions. Use it to practice following rules and to see how quickly risk can fire you when you do not.
